Week of May 2, 2016 Dear Parents, What a wonderful week in second grade. Market Day was a huge success and so much fun. I am always amazed at the creativity from the students. I am excited for you to see all the progress your students have made over the year at our open house on Wednesday. You should have received a letter explaining the conferences on Wednesday in last week's Friday folder.  If not, please email me and I will send you an electronic copy.  Remember Wednesday is an early release day. Second grade will be administering end of the year district curriculum assessments this week. There are two assessments.  A Language Arts assessment which consists of both a reading and writing component, and a Math assessment. This is just one assessment of your child's progress. May activities: As part of our final unit of inquiry, second graders will be participating in a Makerspace Building Day. Each child will need to bring a large bag full of items to build a structure.
