Week of April 27, 2015 Dear Parents, We have had a exciting week in second grade.  Market Day was a great success.  Students learned a great deal about being a producer and a consumer.  Some of the comments were: "It is hard work being a producer."  "I noticed that some producers lowered their price when they did not sell a lot of their goods."  "I realized that my goods only appealed to boys." It is a wonderful experience, and it was great to see all the unique goods the students brought to sell.  Thank you for your support of this project at home. This week we will go on our field trip on Monday.  A reminder slip is in the Friday folder.  I also noticed that school supply order form for next year is in the Friday folder. Thank you for coming out to support the second grade spirit night. Week of April 13, 2015 Dear Parents, Thank you for a wonderful birthday week.  I appreciate all the cards and the cookies from Tiff's Treats.  The cards from the students made my day extra special.  I introduced the ending project for our unit of inquiry Thursday.  Students brought home the letter Thursday.  The business plan is due on April 17 and the Market Day items are to be brought to school on Friday, April 24.  The students are very excited about this project.  It is always so much fun for them.  I sent out a general letter about the spring conference.  Second grade teachers will be sending out a more detailed letter and schedule later this month. Newsletter week of April 6, 2015 Dear Parents, It was another amazing week in second grade. We continue to grow and learn more each week. Please don't forget about the school carnival coming up on April 10. Tickets have already gone on sale.  Report cards went home in the Friday folders today.  Please keep the report copy and just sign and send the envelope back. You will also find a half sheet of green paper in the Friday folder. This paper is to let the office know if your child is going to return to Spicewood next year or not.
