Week of 1-3-17 Dear parents, It has been a spectacular first semester with everyone. I have so enjoyed having your children in my class. We finished our week with a wonderful winter break celebration. I want to thank all the parent volunteers and homeroom parents that help make the party such a wonderful time for the students. A huge thank you to Ms. Ozias for all the planning she did to get the party ready for us. Thank you to our parents that helped out at the party. During the week we had the wonderful opportunity to have a storyteller come and tell winter stories. She was wonderful and very enjoyable. When we return don't forget to send in homework folders and Friday folders. Baggie books will be due the following Monday, January 9.   I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday break. Week of 12-12-16 Dear parents, It has been another wonderful week in second grade. We had a chance to look inside a computer, write code, and work with Ozobots. A special thank you to Max's father for helping out with our hour of code activities. All of these activities went with our central idea of ideas are communicated in a variety of ways. All of the hour of code websites are linked on my webpage under links. In your Friday folder, you will find a letter about the holiday party on Thursday. Students are able to bring a small stuffed animal, a small pillow, and wear pajamas. Please make sure to have students wear appropriate footwear because we will be going outside for recess. Students will be eating in the classroom that day. Don't forget that principal's pride is on Monday at 8:00 in the cafeteria. Your child would have received an invitation in the Friday folder last week if they are receiving the award. Thursday will be our last day of school for this semeste

week of December 5, 2016 Dear Parents, It has been a wonderful week in second grade. I missed all of you over the Thanksgiving break. I hope you and your families had a terrific time with friends and family. Next week we have a couple of activities planned for the hour of code. It is always such a great learning experience. We will also be saying good-bye to our two favorite student teachers Ms. Hernandez and Ms. Anderson. Friday, December 9 will be their last day. Our next Principal's Pride day will be Monday, December 12 at 8:00 in the cafeteria. If you child is receiving Principal's Pride, you will receive an invitation in the Friday folder on December 2. Our winter holiday party will be on Thursday, December 15. We will be sending home a letter about the party in the Friday folder on December 9. Picture retakes will be on Wednesday, December 7. If you child needs a picture retake, please let me know. There is a form that needs to be sent home. Please just email me
