Week of December 14, 2015 Dear Parents, It has been another wonderful week in second grade.  We have the winter break starting on Friday, December 18 until January 5, 2016.  Our winter party will be held on Thursday afternoon. A letter about the party is going home in the Friday folder.  Please don't forget Principal's Pride on Monday, December 14 for some of our students.  Our spirit night that was scheduled for December 10 has been rescheduled for May 17 at MOD pizza.  Report cards for the second nine weeks will be sent home on January 15. In science/social studies: We have been learning about the consequences to changing the environment.  Students did an experiment trying to clean up a simulated oil spill.  Students learned that no matter what tool they used all the oil could not be cleaned up. Week of December 7, 2015 Dear Parents, It has been a busy week this week. Science fair is coming up in January.  It is optional in second grade, however, if you would like to participate the information is available on the PTA website. You can also order a science board for the project through the PTA at a much lower cost.  We will do a class project to help students learn about the process for creating a project for the science fair. Principal's Pride will be held on Monday, December 14 at 8:00 in the cafeteria.  Notices went home in the Friday folder if you child will be receiving the award this time.  Report cards for this nine week will be going home January 15.  The student winter break begins on Friday, December 18.  Our holiday party will be held in the afternoon of December 17.
