Dear Parents,

It has been an honor to teach your children this year. I am sad to be leaving the wonderful Spicewood family. I will miss everyone. I leave you in wonderful hands with Ms. Steinburg taking over on Monday. 

Important dates:

Monday 2/5 3:15 - 4:00: Meet Ms. Steinburg in the classroom 

Monday 2/5: Don't forget send homework folders, Friday folders, and library books

Tuesday, February 6- 5:00-8:00PM   2nd Grade Spirit Night at Jason's Deli

Wednesday 2/7: Last day to turn in class picture orders

Central Idea

The relationship between structures and characteristics

An Inquiry Into

• Impacts of change
• The structure of pattern
• The similarities and differences of structural characteristics

Social Studies and Science: Students will be doing an extend activity to explore 3D printing and

minecraft. They will be using these to create either a rural, suburban, or urban community.

Math: Students will be finishing up a study of area and will begin looking at three digit place value.

Reading: Students will be exploring tall tales to find the character traits in the main characters, reviewing

the five finger retell, and learning about the characteristics of a tall tale.

Writing: Students will be working through the last steps in the revision, editing, and publishing a

personal narrative.

Word Work: Long o , oi, and oy pattern

point, boy, whole noise, joy, toy, voice, stole, choice, and loan.
