week of October 31, 2016

Dear Parents,

It was great to see the Principal's Pride awards this week. Our class is full of students that display the IB learner profile attributes. We also were treated to a wonderful music performance by 4th grade. I know our students are excited about the upcoming Halloween evening. Here is a note from the principal about Monday:
No Halloween Costumes Allowed- Message from Principal
Spicewood ES does not celebrate or allow Halloween costumes at school to minimize instructional disruption. Please do not send your child to school in a costume next Monday. If they come to school with one on, parents/guardians will be contacted by the school personnel for a change of clothes.
Reminders:
Please remember to send a snack each day with your student. I have had to send several students to the nurse to get snack. The nurse provides these at her own expense. Let's help our students be responsible and remember snacks each day. Thank you.
Please don't forget to send in Friday folders and homework folders on Monday.
Library is on Friday so don't forget to send in library books on Friday.
Book baggie books will be turned in on November 7.
In the homework folder is a mystery bag activity that is due on Tuesday, November 1. The instructions are to put one item in a paper bag (not a see through bag) and write three clues to help students identify the object inside. This is to go along with the skill of inference in reading.
