Week of August 23, 2016
Welcome to second grade. I am so excited to have you in my class this year. Some things to know about the first day of school. Please bring a water bottle and healthy snack. We will have a snack time everyday. Meet the teacher is from Monday 2:30 - 3:15. If you ordered supplies through the PTA, they will be in the classroom. If you did not, please bring them to meet the teacher. We will spend the time at meet the teacher putting away supplies so that we are ready to go on Tuesday. Just a reminder that school hours have changed to 7:40 to 2:50. Our class will be split for PE, Music and Art so please wear PE appropriate shoes all week until we know our rotation.

We are glad to have your student in Spicewood’s Second Grade!
This is a guide to help with frequently asked questions and important information.

Please complete the student contact information form and return it Monday.
Our lunch time is 11:31 – 12:01.
You may bring a healthy snack to eat mid-morning.
Our recess time is 2:05 – 2:30.
Students may bring a water bottle with water only.
Communication:
My conference time is 8:55 – 9:45
Sign up for text message alerts by texting @ to 81010. You will receive a message asking for your full name send your name back and you will be added.

We will attempt to return phone calls and emails within 24 hours.
Student homework folders will be sent home on Monday and should be initialed nightly and returned on Friday. This will be explained at parent orientation.
Friday folders should be signed and returned Monday morning. Please review and remove work weekly.
Important Date:
Second grade parent orientation is Thursday, September 8 at 5:30 p.m.
Student led conferences will be on Monday, October 10. Sign - up will be available at parent orientation.
Student/Parent Handbook:
Parents must return the Acknowledgment Statement for the Student Handbook Student Code of Conduct; the pink emergency health card, and the white registration form by Friday,August 26. These forms will be in the first day packet.
